Meta adds "spaces" to Muse AI, letting users build app-like hubs by describing them
Meta is rolling out "spaces" to all users of its Muse AI assistant. Spaces are customized, app-like experiences that Muse builds from a text description, and they can update automatically when connected to a relevant app. Meta is also releasing a "specialized" version of its Muse Wonder AI model.
Meta is rolling out "spaces" to all users of its Muse AI assistant, a feature that lets Muse build customized, app-like experiences that users interact with directly inside the app, The Verge reports. The rollout also includes a "specialized" version of Meta's Muse Wonder AI model.
What spaces do
According to The Verge, Muse can use spaces to build things like a shopping hub, a school dashboard, a music tracker or a trivia game. Meta says users create a space by describing it, then refine it by asking Muse for changes.
Spaces are interactive rather than static outputs. Users can check items off, add notes and make edits inside a space.
Background updates
If a space is connected to a relevant app, Muse will update pricing, dates and other information in the background. The Verge's report does not name which apps can be connected.
Placement and scheduling
Users can add spaces to the sidebar in the Muse app or move them into the main tab. They can also schedule when each space appears. Meta's example: "keep your weekly planner up front during the workweek, then swap it for your weekend plans on Saturday."
Rollout and model
Meta is rolling out spaces to all Muse users. Alongside the feature, the company is releasing a "specialized" version of Muse Wonder, its AI model. Details on that version, including parameter count, context window, pricing and benchmark results, were not part of the announcement as reported by The Verge.
Meta is also looking into ways for users to share spaces with others and collaborate on them. The Verge notes that Muse recently gained a voice mode.
What this means
Spaces change what a Muse output can be. Instead of a reply in a chat thread, a request can produce a persistent interface that the user returns to, edits and keeps current. Connecting a space to an app means the content refreshes without a new prompt, so a tracker or hub stays usable over time.
The scheduling controls point the same way. Muse is positioned as something users arrange around their routines, with different spaces surfaced on different days. Sharing and collaboration are still only under exploration at Meta, so spaces are, for now, individual tools rather than shared workspaces.
The pairing with a specialized Muse Wonder model suggests Meta is tying this feature to model work, but the company has not provided technical specifics in this announcement as reported.
