Anthropic has released a research preview of the Model Hardware Standard (MHS), a protocol that lets AI agents discover and control physical devices like robotic arms and liquid handlers through a single interface. Built with HHMI Janelia Research Campus, the spec has been tested by Genentech, Carnegie Mellon, and QuEra, with Anthropic claiming it cuts hardware integration time from weeks to hours.

AWS published a technical breakdown of an MCP bridge that connects cloud-hosted AI agents on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore to MCP servers running on a user's local machine. The architecture, used internally in a finance assistant with over 41,000 conversations in its first year, tunnels MCP JSON-RPC messages through WebSocket and browser native messaging.

AWS has released AgentCore, a new platform for hosting and running voice-based AI agents, integrated with Amazon Nova 2 Sonic for real-time speech capabilities. The platform uses the open Model Context Protocol (MCP) to connect agents to backend systems and deploys each conversation in isolated microVMs.

Apple has released an MCP server for Safari Technology Preview 247 that allows AI coding agents to directly inspect and debug websites. Mistral released 20+ MCP-powered connectors for Le Chat, integrating tools like Databricks, Snowflake, GitHub, Stripe, and Asana. The update includes a memory feature that saves user preferences across conversations, with one-click import from ChatGPT. All features are available on the free plan.

Epic Games released Unreal Engine 5.8 with an experimental Model Context Protocol plugin that allows developers to connect AI models including Claude and Gemini to the game engine. The company plans to make MCP integral to Unreal Engine 6, expected in late 2027.

Mistral AI has released Connectors in Studio, allowing developers to integrate custom MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers alongside built-in connectors for enterprise AI applications. The release includes direct tool calling, human-in-the-loop approval flows, and programmatic connector management via API and SDK.

AWS has released support for custom Model Context Protocol (MCP) proxies on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Runtime, allowing organizations to implement custom governance and security controls on AI agent tool interactions without modifying upstream MCP servers. The serverless proxy runs on AgentCore Runtime with automatic scaling and built-in observability through CloudWatch and OpenTelemetry.
