Huawei releases standalone HarmonyOS PC assistant (v11.7.9.300) with official Work office agent
Huawei has put its AI assistant in the HarmonyOS PC AppGallery as a standalone app, version 11.7.9.300, and officially released its Work office agent. IT Home reported on November 6 that Work moved beyond the internal testing it entered in September. It uses a membership model with AI points, and subscription prices have not been disclosed.
Huawei has released its AI assistant as a standalone app in the HarmonyOS PC AppGallery and officially launched its Work office agent, IT Home reported on November 6. The PC app carries version number 11.7.9.300.
The assistant was previously integrated into the computer operating system. A separate app gives Huawei a distribution channel for updates outside the system-level package. IT Home said the Work function entered internal testing in September, and the current release moves it beyond that test phase.
What Work does
Users can delegate tasks such as data analysis, slide preparation and weekly reports with a single instruction. According to the report, the agent breaks an objective into steps, selects tools and carries out the work. It produces usable Word, PowerPoint and Excel documents rather than only returning a conversational answer.
Huawei's Chinese product page describes two execution environments: a cloud PC and the local computer. Users choose one according to the software and files a task needs. The company says progress stays visible and users review important checkpoints, rather than leaving every stage to an unattended agent.
Integrations and phone control
The service supports connectors to office platforms including DingTalk and Feishu. Huawei says more than 200 domain experts and expert teams are available within the service. These are product claims, not an independently assessed measure of task quality or successful completion.
A connected HarmonyOS phone can remotely dispatch work to a computer, monitor progress and receive completed results. Huawei says tasks can continue after the user leaves the PC, and one phone can connect to multiple computers. Actual execution still depends on the selected device, files and environment being available.
Pricing
According to IT Home, Work uses a membership model with AI points that measure task consumption. More complex work consumes different amounts of points. Current subscription prices are not yet disclosed.
Scope of this release
The new development is the standalone PC distribution and the official release of the office agent. It is distinct from Pandaily's November 5 report about openPangu-2.1-Pro appearing inside the service. Huawei has not confirmed an official English name for this China-market Work product.
What this means
The standalone listing changes how the assistant is delivered: updates can now ship through AppGallery instead of only through system-level packages. The shift from internal testing to an official release makes Work a generally available product, though the report gives no independent measurement of how reliably it completes tasks.
The phone-to-PC dispatch and the choice between cloud-PC and local execution make the product a task-delegation tool as well as a chat assistant. Checkpoint review is Huawei's stated approach to keeping users in control. Because Work bills in AI points that vary with task complexity, the cost of a given job depends on that job, and without published prices the full cost cannot yet be assessed.
