Anthropic will permanently raise Claude Code's baseline weekly usage limits by 25% starting September 14. Because this replaces a temporary 50% boost currently active, users will actually end up with about 17% less capacity than they have today.

Google is switching Gemini Notebook from fixed daily feature limits to compute-based usage limits that factor in prompt complexity, chat length, and sources used. The change, mirroring a May update to the Gemini app, rolls out to consumer accounts on September 2, 2026.

OpenAI will reinstate a five-hour usage limit for Codex and ChatGPT Work on Plus subscriptions starting August 25, 2026, after weeks of running only a weekly cap. Pro $100 and Pro $200 plans remain exempt from the change for the foreseeable future.
