Jimeng Short Drama Studio links script, assets and storyboards; Seedance 2.5 as low as 0.15 yuan per second
Jimeng (即梦) Short Drama Studio puts scriptwriting, an asset library and storyboarding in a single project for episodic AI video. Qbitai (量子位), in a Chinese-language hands-on test, reports Seedance 2.5 priced as low as 0.15 yuan per second for teams during the Double Eleven promotion.
Jimeng (即梦) Short Drama Studio chains scriptwriting, an asset library and storyboarding in one project, and Seedance 2.5 generation with reference video is as low as 0.15 yuan per second for teams during the Double Eleven promotion. The details come from a Chinese-language hands-on test published by Qbitai (量子位) on 2026-11-06.
Pricing
According to the Qbitai article, the Double Eleven promotion on Seedance 2.5 includes:
- Individual annual membership packages as low as 4.5折 (zhe, a Chinese discount notation).
- Team annual packages as low as 4.2折.
- 720P generation with reference video: as low as 0.16 yuan per second for individuals and 0.15 yuan per second for teams.
Qbitai describes these as the lowest prices Seedance has had. Pricing in USD and per-token figures are not applicable to this product, and no context window or benchmark scores are given.
Workflow tested
The studio starts from a one-line idea, a novel or an existing script. Qbitai's tester asked for a hit high-school short drama, and an assistant searched for inspiration and returned three options. After the tester asked for a light comedy instead of a mystery, the system produced new concepts.
The script model is called DreamScript. For the chosen concept it generated a character setup, a 10-episode outline and full scripts for the first three episodes, with dialogue, actions and expressions marked. The tester found one inconsistency (a title promised a point deduction that never appeared in the text). The assistant proposed a fix and rewrote the script after confirmation.
The production asset library then listed 7 characters and 3 scenes for the first three episodes, each with a prompt and a one-click image option. Batch generation is supported. Qbitai says character and scene images took about 10 minutes.
Storyboards can be generated automatically or written by hand on a blank board. The first clip took about 4 minutes. A storyboard assistant handled revisions: it rewrote the shot description, then regenerated the clip with a close-up and bilingual subtitles as requested.
Cost-control tools
- Smart preview plus 480p test generation: The assistant updates reference images and generates an 8-second preview video. A 3D director stage turns a storyboard into a three-dimensional scene so users can check character positions, sight lines and camera angles. Qbitai says a 480p sample can be generated before the final render to save credits.
- Local reshoot: Users select one shot and describe the change, for example removing repeated blinking, without regenerating the whole segment.
Teams, API and partner program
A team edition allows shared assets and per-person credit allocation. Enterprises can connect generation capability through an API.
At the end of October, Jimeng launched a Short Drama Agency Partner Program (即梦短剧机构伙伴计划) open to studios, MCNs and teams making short dramas for overseas markets. Selected teams get one month of premium team membership and access to IP adaptation resources. "Pilot Partner" (领航伙伴) teams can connect with IP from platforms including Tomato Novel (番茄小说) and 每天读点故事, with a dedicated copyright filing channel. Strong titles may receive customized promotion support. Works reaching the top reward tier for plays on major domestic and overseas short-drama platforms can earn 10万元 in cash plus 10万元 worth of Jimeng credits per title, according to the article. Individual creators can apply for support through the Creator Growth Program.
Relationship to Xiaoyunque
Addressing rumors of a merger with Xiaoyunque (小云雀), Jimeng says it integrated Xiaoyunque's short-drama agent capabilities. Both products belong to Jianying (剪映).
What this means
The tested workflow targets the non-creative overhead of episodic AI video: keeping characters consistent, managing assets and avoiding full regenerations. The 480p samples, 8-second previews and local reshoots all aim to cut credit spend before final renders. For studios, the partner program adds IP sourcing and distribution support alongside the tooling. The Seedance 2.5 prices are a time-limited Double Eleven promotion, so they should not be read as permanent rates.
