Xiaomi discontinued its MiMo-V2.5-Pro and MiMo-V2.5 models at 10 a.m. Beijing time on October 21, moving their API services to the newer MiMo-V2.6 family, according to a report from TechNode.
Routing details
Requests to the older model names have been automatically routed to the new models since October 14:
- MiMo-V2.5-Pro requests go to MiMo-V2.6-Pro
- MiMo-V2.5 requests go to MiMo-V2.6-Flash
The switch gives users of the text-only MiMo-V2.5-Pro access to multimodal understanding through the replacement model.
What this means
Developers who called MiMo-V2.5-Pro or MiMo-V2.5 by name have been served by MiMo-V2.6-Pro and MiMo-V2.6-Flash, respectively, since October 14, a week before the formal discontinuation. Teams that depend on consistent output from these endpoints should compare responses against their earlier results, since the models behind the old names have changed. For MiMo-V2.5-Pro users, the move replaces a text-only model with one that handles multimodal understanding.
