Suno announced on November 4, 2026 that Pro and Premier subscribers can start songs by uploading MIDI files to its Create page, according to Unite.AI.

How it works

Users combine the musical data in a MIDI file with natural-language instructions. Those instructions can tell Suno to follow the written notes, develop them or change their instrumentation.

There are two ways to add a file: drag and drop it onto Create, or select MIDI from the page's plus menu.

Supported formats

The accepted static formats are .mid and .midi. MIDI becomes a data-based starting point alongside the two existing ones: text prompts and uploaded audio.

Availability

The feature is available to Pro and Premier subscribers.

What this means

Suno's Create page now accepts three kinds of input: text prompts, uploaded audio and MIDI files. Because a MIDI file carries note data, a user can supply the notes and use the written instructions to decide whether Suno keeps them, builds on them or reorchestrates them. Access is limited to the two paid tiers named in the announcement.
