Alibaba's personal agent Qwen Go! added a feature called My Apps on October 23, letting users build their own apps by describing what they want, with no code required. According to Alibaba, the apps cover daily life, work or study, can be shared with others, keep updating their data and stay available over time rather than disappearing when a chat ends.

How My Apps works

Users describe the app they want, and Qwen Go! builds it. My Apps runs on Meoo, Alibaba Cloud's AI application production platform. Meoo handles the steps that typically block non-programmers: it builds the app, configures the database and deploys it online automatically.

Alibaba's examples are small, specific tools that would normally need a developer or a template website:

  • Interactive course materials
  • Event sign-up pages
  • Family outing guides
  • Fitness class booking assistants

Meoo also has a command-line tool on GitHub, which Pandaily reports points to the same back end being offered to developers.

Connection to cloud Pro mode and Alibaba services

My Apps works with Qwen Go!'s cloud Pro mode, which can operate cloud phones and cloud computers on the user's behalf. With the user's authorization, apps built through My Apps can draw on data from Alibaba services including Taobao, Damai and Quark's cloud drive. Alibaba's pitch is that a user can build, for example, a tool that pulls in their own ticket or shopping information, so the app fits their needs more closely than a generic one.

Context: from errands to tools

When Alibaba opened Qwen Go! sign-ups earlier this month, the pitch was an agent that handles errands such as filing flight-delay claims and tracking price protection. My Apps extends that from completing tasks to making tools.

On the same day as the launch, Qwen's Jiang Guanjun spoke at the CNCC conference and described a personal agent framework that depends on models, memory and an ecosystem working together. Pandaily frames app building as a creation layer added to that picture.

Availability

Both My Apps and cloud Pro are in invite-only testing. Users can join a waitlist on the invitation page inside the Qwen app. Alibaba says access is opening up quickly. Pricing has not yet been disclosed.

What this means

My Apps changes what a Qwen Go! output is. Until now the agent's results were tied to a task or a conversation. Apps that persist, update their data and can be shared turn those results into something users keep and pass on.

The Meoo dependency is the practical detail. Database setup and online deployment are the steps Alibaba says it automates, and those are the ones that usually require a developer. Pairing that with authorized access to Taobao, Damai and Quark cloud drive data gives the apps personal inputs inside Alibaba's own services.

The feature is still gated. With both My Apps and cloud Pro in invite-only testing, how well the generated apps hold up in daily use is not yet something outside users can assess broadly.
