Anthropic released Reflect, a new dashboard inside Claude's settings menu designed to help users monitor and limit their chatbot usage. The feature combines elements of Spotify Wrapped-style summaries with screen time management tools.
What Reflect offers
The dashboard generates usage reports covering the last 1, 3, 6, or 12 months of Claude conversations. Users can access it through Settings > Reflect at claude.ai.
Notably, the dashboard does not yet show actual time spent using Claude. According to Ryn Linthicum, Anthropic's head of wellbeing policy, the company lacked an internal system for measuring time spent when development began on Reflect. The Time spent tab currently displays "coming soon."
Break reminders and quiet hours
Reflect provides two primary usage management tools:
Break reminders: Claude sends nudges after set intervals of 15, 30, or 45 minutes, or every few hours. Users can dismiss these reminders freely.
Quiet hours: Users can block Claude access during specific hours on individual days. For example, blocking 5PM-8PM on Monday while setting different hours for Saturday.
Both features rely on user compliance—Claude cannot enforce the limits, only suggest them.
AI fluency recommendations
The dashboard includes an AI fluency section that analyzes usage patterns and generates optimization tips. If Claude detects repeated context-setting in prompts, it recommends using the Projects feature to group related conversations and reduce redundant explanations.
What this means
Anthropic's Reflect dashboard represents a notable shift toward transparency in AI product design, addressing growing concerns about digital wellness. However, the missing time-tracking metric limits its utility compared to established screen time tools. The voluntary nature of all restrictions means effectiveness depends entirely on user discipline. The AI fluency recommendations may provide more practical value by helping users work more efficiently with Claude rather than simply using it less.
