Availability and access
The PowerPoint integration is accessible to both free tier ChatGPT users and ChatGPT Business subscribers. Users can generate new slides or modify existing presentations by issuing text-based commands to the chatbot.
ChatGPT can pull content from connected services including Gmail, Outlook, and SharePoint to populate slides, according to OpenAI.
Catching up to competitors
The move brings OpenAI's enterprise integrations closer to parity with competitors. Anthropic has offered similar PowerPoint functionality with Claude since September 2024. Google's Gemini already integrates with Google Slides.
ChatGPT previously gained integration with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets. PowerPoint represents another step in OpenAI's expansion into productivity software ahead of a potential IPO.
