DeepReinforce has released Ornith-1.0, an MIT-licensed model designed for agentic coding tasks with variants ranging from 9B to 397B parameters. Built on top of Apache 2.0-licensed Gemma 4 and Qwen 3.5 base models, the company claims it achieves state-of-the-art performance among open-source models of comparable size on coding benchmarks.

In an informal SVG generation benchmark, Alibaba's Qwen3.6-35B-A3B model running locally via a 20.9GB quantized version outperformed Anthropic's newly released Claude Opus 4.7. The test, which asked models to generate SVG illustrations of pelicans and flamingos on bicycles, showed the smaller local model producing more accurate bicycle frames and more creative outputs.

Google launched AI Edge Gallery, an official iPhone app for running Gemma 4 models (E2B and E4B sizes) directly on device. The E2B model downloads at 2.54GB and delivers fast inference with image analysis, audio transcription up to 30 seconds, and tool calling capabilities.
