Google DeepMind has released SL2T, a massively multilingual sign-language-to-text translation model trained on over 100,000 hours of data across 50+ sign languages. The model powers new sign-to-text dictation features in Gboard and Live Transcribe on Pixel 11, starting with American Sign Language to English.

Google's upcoming Pixel Drop will bring Screen Reactions and Gemini Omni-powered features to Pixel phones, according to promotional videos discovered on Amazon. The update, overdue based on Google's typical quarterly schedule following March 2026's release, appears to coincide with Android 17's stable release.

Google's new Gemini Intelligence features require 12GB of RAM, Gemini Nano v3 or higher, flagship chips, and 5 years of OS upgrades. The requirements exclude recent devices including the entire Pixel 9 series and Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 7, which run Gemini Nano v2.
