Google has made Data Agent Kit generally available. It is free, open source, and installs into Antigravity, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and VS Code-compatible editors. It splits guardrails between advisory skills and enforceable IAM deny policies, according to InfoQ.

Google Cloud has begun offering three OpenAI models, GPT-6 Astra, GPT-6.1 Sol and GPT-6 Luna, in a private preview for select enterprise customers. Google says this makes it the only major cloud provider hosting Gemini, Claude and OpenAI models on one platform. Pricing, context windows and benchmark scores have not been disclosed.

Google Cloud announced the Gemini agent at Gemini at Work 2026 on October 8. It is an enterprise agent that routes each job to either Gemini or Claude models. It is in private preview, with wider availability for select Workspace Business and Enterprise plans coming soon.

Google DeepMind and Google Research released WeatherNext 3, a global weather AI model that ingests live geostationary satellite data to produce hourly forecasts at up to 5-kilometer resolution — five times sharper than its predecessor, WeatherNext 2. The model is now integrated into Google Search, Maps, Gemini, Google Maps Platform, and Cloud.

Google Cloud has launched Gemini Enterprise for Legal, a preview product that connects its Gemini models to legal software like iManage, DocuSign, Everlaw, RelativityOne, and Harvey via MCP connectors. The tool automates contract review, legal research, and regulatory tracking while respecting existing permission structures.

Oracle is embedding Google's Gemini 3.1 Flash-Lite and Gemini 3.5 Flash models into its Fusion Applications and NetSuite software, expanding a partnership with its cloud rival. Oracle shares rose as much as 8.4% to $127.64 on the news.

Cline, the VSCode AI coding assistant, released v4.0.5 with support for Anthropic's Claude Sonnet 3.5 across seven API providers. The update includes model picker integration and pricing corrections for the model.

Apple announced five third-generation foundation models at WWDC26, headlined by AFM 3 Core Advanced—a 20-billion-parameter sparse model that runs on-device by activating only 1-4 billion parameters at a time. For the first time, Apple extended Private Cloud Compute to third-party infrastructure, with AFM 3 Cloud Pro running on Nvidia GPUs in Google Cloud.

Google announced its Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform at Cloud Next 2026, positioning it as a competitor to Amazon Bedrock AgentCore and Microsoft Foundry. The platform targets IT and technical teams specifically, with support for Google's Gemini models and Anthropic's full Claude lineup including the newly released Opus 4.7.
