GPT-6 Sol

Artemis Security has launched Orion-1, a model that investigates and responds to corporate network attacks, in private preview. The company claims it beats Claude Opus 5.5 and GPT-6 Sol on its own Decision-Grade Readiness benchmark, with the largest gap in attack reconstruction (80.8 vs 58.3). Pricing, context window and parameter count have not been disclosed.

Vals AI tested GPT-6 Sol and Claude Opus 5.5 on Vibe Code Bench as solo agents and as teams. Teams cost 1.8x to 5.1x more, and only one of four comparisons showed a statistically significant improvement. Anthropic's own scaling data and comments from OpenAI's Noam Brown point the same way: more agents mostly buy speed, not quality.

OpenAI is rolling out GPT-6 to all ChatGPT tiers, with paying users on GPT-6 Sol and free users on GPT-6 Luna. The release adds 'Intelligent UI,' which renders answers as interactive charts, buttons, forms and mini apps, and lets the model respond while still thinking. OpenAI claims this cuts wait times by 44 percent.

Anthropic released Claude Opus 5.5 at $4/$20 per million input/output tokens, undercutting Opus 5's $5/$25 pricing while claiming better agentic coding scores. OpenAI countered with GPT-6 Sol ($2/$10) and GPT-6 Luna ($0.10/$0.50), both up to 50% cheaper than GPT-5.6's promotional rates.

OpenAI has released GPT-6 Sol Pro, which runs the existing GPT-6 Sol model with its reasoning mode set to 'pro' for higher-quality responses on complex tasks. It carries a 1.1 million token context window and is priced at $2 per 1M input tokens and $10 per 1M output tokens.

OpenAI has released GPT-6 Sol and Luna, updated versions of its mid-tier and lightweight models, priced at half the cost of their GPT-5.6 predecessors. The company claims GPT-6 Sol makes roughly half as many factual errors as its predecessor, reaching what it calls 'Astra-level reliability' at lower cost.
