Mistral launches upgraded le Chat with ~1000 words/sec Flash Answers, iOS/Android apps, and $14.99/month Pro tier

Mistral AI has released a major update to le Chat, its conversational AI assistant, introducing Flash Answers—a feature the company claims generates up to ~1000 words per second. The update includes iOS and Android apps, new Pro ($14.99/month) and Team subscription tiers, and an Enterprise tier in private preview.

Flash Answers is currently available in preview to all users, according to Mistral. The company attributes the speed to "the highest-performing, lowest-latency Mistral models and the fastest inference engines."

New features and capabilities

The updated le Chat adds several features:

• Code interpreter: Sandboxed code execution for data analysis, visualizations, and algorithm validation
• Image generation: Powered by Black Forest Labs' Flux Ultra model
• Memories: Opt-in feature (rolling out soon) that allows le Chat to remember user preferences and past conversations
• Document processing: OCR and vision models for processing PDFs, spreadsheets, log files, and images
• Web search integration: Combines pre-trained knowledge with recent information from journalism, social media, and web sources

Pricing structure

Mistral offers most le Chat features free, including access to latest models, journalism sources, image generation, and document uploads. The Pro tier at $14.99/month provides "expanded access to the fastest tier of service, latest AI capabilities, and all new features," with over 50% off for students. Team and Enterprise pricing were not disclosed.

The Enterprise tier, in private preview, allows deployment in secure environments with custom tools and models. Data connectors and multi-step agents for task automation are "coming soon," according to the announcement.

Mobile availability

Le Chat is now available on iOS (App Store) and Android (Play Store), with web access at chat.mistral.ai. No credit card is required for the free tier.

The company positions le Chat for both personal use cases (travel planning, learning, document analysis) and professional workflows (software development, data analysis, sales, marketing, legal research).
