Google launches Antigravity 2.0 with desktop app, Go-based CLI, and SDK at $100/month

Google announced Antigravity 2.0 at I/O 2026 on Monday, expanding its agentic coding tool into a full developer platform with a revamped desktop app, a new command-line interface built in Go, and an SDK for building custom agents.

Desktop app gains multi-agent orchestration

The updated desktop application introduces multi-agent orchestration as its core feature. Developers can now run multiple agents simultaneously on different problems, design custom subagent workflows, and schedule background tasks that execute automatically.

Antigravity 2.0 integrates natively with Google AI Studio, Firebase, and Android. Developers can export projects from AI Studio directly to their local Antigravity instance while preserving full context.

New Go-based CLI replaces Gemini CLI

Google is shipping a new Antigravity CLI built in Go, which the company claims is faster and more responsive than its predecessor.

The older Gemini CLI will shut down for consumers on June 18, 2026. Consumer access to Gemini CLI and Gemini Code Assist IDE extensions will cease for AI Pro, AI Ultra, and free-tier users on that date. Enterprise customers with Gemini Code Assist Standard or Enterprise licenses will retain access.

SDK enables custom agent development

The Antigravity SDK provides developers with tools to create custom agents on top of Google's coding infrastructure. Google Cloud customers can connect directly to Antigravity, and custom agent templates are available in AI Studio for enterprise use cases.

According to Google, the company used Antigravity internally to build consumer features, including custom UI generation in Google Search.

Antigravity 2.0 runs on the new Gemini 3.5 Flash model, which Google claims outperforms Gemini 3.1 Pro on coding and agentic benchmarks while running four times faster than competing frontier models. Google says Gemini 3.5 Flash was co-developed using Antigravity.

The desktop app now supports native voice commands, allowing developers to control agents through speech rather than typing.

Pricing restructure targets developer market

Google introduced a new AI Ultra tier at $100 per month with five times the usage limits of the AI Pro plan. The existing top-tier AI Ultra subscription drops from $250 to $200 per month, offering 20 times the Pro limits.

The $100 price point directly competes with OpenAI's ChatGPT Pro tier and Anthropic's Claude Max, both priced at $100 per month. The $200 premium tier matches Anthropic's top Claude Max plan.
