The Word add-in joins previously released Excel and PowerPoint add-ins. According to Anthropic, Claude can rewrite highlighted text, respond to comments within documents, and insert modifications as tracked changes that users can review individually.
Cross-application context
Context can be shared across all three Office add-ins — Word, PowerPoint, and Excel — allowing Claude to maintain information continuity when users work across multiple documents.
The add-in currently supports .docx and .docm file formats.
Availability and access
Claude for Word is in beta and available exclusively to Team and Enterprise plan subscribers. Users can install the add-in through the Microsoft Marketplace.
Pricing for Team and Enterprise plans has not been disclosed in this announcement. Anthropic has not announced availability for individual or free-tier users.
