Claude Cowork Expands to Mobile and Web
Anthropic is launching Claude Cowork on iOS, Android, and web platforms starting July 8, 2026, ending the AI assistant's desktop-only availability. The rollout begins with Max subscribers, with other plan tiers receiving access "in the coming weeks," according to the company.
Cloud Processing Enables Cross-Device Continuity
Cowork sessions now run in the cloud by default, allowing users to continue tasks across different devices and keep processes running even when laptops are closed. Scheduled tasks will execute when devices are offline. Desktop app users retain the option to switch between cloud and local processing.
Anthropic states the "full experience" remains on the desktop app for macOS and Windows, which includes local file access features not available on mobile or web versions.
New Notification System
Claude can now send mobile notifications when tasks require user review or approval, enabling asynchronous workflows between the AI assistant and users.
Extended Usage Limits
Anthropic is extending doubled Cowork usage limits through August 5, 2026. Specific token limits or usage caps were not disclosed.
